Her Courage
By Tegan
Setting: Relena's feelings when her new husband goes on a prolonged
Forgotten days and lonely nights
How my heart longs to remember your face
Fading memories, shadows of the past
I hear your voice calling out to me in the dawn of the new day
Your silhouette is displayed in the misty morning light
With tears I call out your name
I start to run, faster and faster
With my hand out-stretched, I reach for you, only to pass through your shadow
I look up only to see you swiftly walk away from me
No mater how hard I try, or how fast I run
You keep moving further away from me
I wake from my sleep
Only to find that you have slipped away from me once again
I can no longer hold back my tears
Only now do they come
Streaming down my face
Like the rushing of a waterfall
No one is here, I’m alone
Only the stillness of the night calms me
I look at your picture on the nightstand
There in the moonlight, I can see your face
Your smile reassures me
My tears have run dry
And once again I drift to sleep
