Kim's Popcorn Balls #1


You will need:

You will need:

3 quarts of popped corn

1 cup of sugar

1/3 cup of white corn syrup

1 cup of water

1/4 teaspoon of salt

1 teaspoon of lemon or vanilla extract

a candy thermometer

waxed paper

To Make:

Discard all imperfect kernels and put the popped corn into a large pan.

Cook sugar, syrup and water to the med. crack stage (280 degrees F).

Add flavoring and salt.

Pour mixture over the popped corn, stirring with a spoon so that all of the kernels will be evenly coated.

Shape the corn into balls, let cool on waxed paper.

1 cup of sugar

2/3 cup of water

1/4 teaspoon of salt

2 tablespoons of butter or margarine

a candy thermometer

waxed paper

To Make:

Discard all imperfect kernels and put the popped corn into a large pan. Cook sugar, syrup and water to the med. crack stage (280 degrees F).

Add flavoring and salt.

Pour mixture over the popped corn, stirring with a spoon so that all of the kernels will be evenly coated.

Shape the corn into balls, let cool on waxed paper.
