Garbanzo Beans & Rice
You will need:
1 cup of rice
2 1/3 cups of water
Two packets of G Washington Golden Broth OR two teaspoons of McKay’s Chicken Style Seasoning OR two crumbled vegetable bullion cubes
1 teaspoon Lawry’s Season Salt (if not available add another teaspoon of McKay’s Chicken Style Seasoning or one packet of G Washington Golden Broth or one crumbled vegetable bullion cube
One 15 oz. can of garbanzo beans (also called ‘chick peas’), drained
˝ cup of small macaroni rings or orzo
1 tablespoon butter
To Make:
Bring water, bullion, season salt and butter to a boil in a two-quart pan. Stir in the rice and macaroni rings. Cover and simmer until cooked, approx. 20 minutes. Stir in drained garbanzo beans and cover for about 5 minutes until the beans are heated through.
